The Community Spirit – Block Bottles Project
A limited edition collection that added real local flavor
and celebrated three pretty special blocks 🍸
_____
The Community Spirit vodka brand is all about honoring and uplifting local communities. So, when we were asked to create a limited-edition vodka collection, we knew we had to celebrate communities on local level. Like really local. And that’s how the Block Bottle collection came to life.
Each Block Bottle is a tribute to a one-of-a-kind city block - the birth of many African American musicians of Leimert Blvd in LA, the surprising roots of Tex-Mex with the Chili Queens of Military Plaza in San Antonio, and the invention of community street golf with Minetta Lane’s Tiger Hood in NYC. (You gotta get out there and try it).
Each bottle’s label is illustrated by an artist residing in these communities, and each comes with its own cocktail recipe inspired by that block’s unique flavor and spirit.
I loved this project because it made us think small.
What I mean is, this wasn’t about reaching a huge audience or having a massive distribution. It was about focusing on and celebrating the real impact a small area, like a city block, can have on a community.
That’s something worth raising a glass to!
